Our mission

The Mission of the Sandwich Home Industries is three-fold: to support local artists and the local economy, to provide a welcoming gallery and educational program for area residents and visitors to the Lakes Region; and to collaborate with the League of NH Craftsmen to advance, cultivate, and champion excellence in fine craft.

Rug making had long been a practical and creative outlet for rural women, who could use up old clothing and blankets in the process, and city buyers were increasingly eager to purchase such handmade goods.
